Sending Money To India Via The Money2India Money Transfer Service

Sending money to India? You can use ICICI Bank’s Money2India online money transfer service to send money to India from the comfort of your home. ICICI Bank is India's second-largest bank with total assets of USD 81 billion on March 31, 2010.

To transfer money to India, you need to register on the Money2India website. You will not need an ICICI Bank account to use this international money transfer service and neither will your beneficiary. You can use the Fixed Rupee Transfer service to ensure that a fixed amount in Rupees will be remitted to your beneficiary.

Choose a money transfer solution that suits you:

  • e-Transfer - Transfer money directly from your bank account in the United States or Canada to your beneficiary in India. The money will be sent through the US Automated Clearing House (ACH) or the Canadian ACSS (Automated Clearing Settlement System). 
  • Power Transfer (Web-Based Wire Transfer) - Power Transfer is ICICI Bank's online wire transfer channel. You can use it to transfer money to India via the Internet in as little as 48 hours.
  • Web-Based Cheque Transfers - There is no need to send a cheque to all the way to India! You can mail a cheque drawn on a local bank to a post box in your country. The money will be transferred online.
  • NetExpress Transfers - Do you have a bank account with Internet banking? You can use your local internet banking account to send money to India with a few clicks.

You can also contact the overseas branches of ICICI Bank, its partners, and correspondent banks to send money to India.

  • Security - Money2India uses 128-bit SSL encryption to protect your bank account details and other personal information.
  • Convenience - You can send money to India quickly and conveniently from the comfort of your home or office. The time taken will depend on the method chosen by you.
  • Charges - You will have to pay a remittance service charge of USD 2 if your remittance is $ 1,000 or less. There is no charge for larger amounts. USD2 will also be charged for Fixed Rupee Transfers of INR 40,000 or less. There is no charge for larger amounts. A demand draft can be couriered / mailed to your beneficiary. Cash can also be paid out from any of the select ICICI Bank branches in India.
  • Automatic recurring money transfer - You can arrange for funds to be transferred automatically at regular intervals (for example, on a monthly basis).
  • Track your remittance online - You can use the unique tracking number to track your request online at every stage of the transaction. Money2India will send you e-mail alerts to keep you updated about the status of your international wire transfer request.
